New Homes in Sheffield Green Belt

Sheffield City Council have approved an application to build 88 new of homes in Sheffield’s Green Belt. The site is the currently derelict former Dyson Refractories ceramics factory on Stopes Road, Stannington

The planning application has been running since January 2015, and Weddles were asked to develop the Public Open Space designs by Ben Bailey Homes. Our brief was to deliver a high-quality residential environment, utilising local natural materials.

Officers said the designs were ‘appropriate to the overall setting’ and that ‘useable and well-designed open space’ would ‘complement’ the houses.

Developer Ben Bailey Homes has ‘enhanced the sustainability credentials’ of the project, which is ‘considered to weigh positively’ in its favour.
