Huijing Square

Huijing Square

We aimed to introduce a kind of high quality new modem urban life style through the landscape design proposal, which combine three main aspects as follows:

1. Vibrant, diversity and modem shopping environment;

2.Encouraging, relaxing and comfortable working place;

3. Sunny,sustainable and healthy contemporary community.

The proposals are divided into 4 landscape character areas which provide various functions. The movement between character areas are well arranged and maybe encouraged in some areas. Landscape axis is used to arrange spaces to reach a logic order.The use of landscape nodes would help to address key spaces and guide visitors to next interesting points.

Delta Hospital

Hospitals can be stressful environments for patients, visitors and staff. Outdoor space provides tranquility and calm and gives opportunities for escape from stress. Be it a green view from a window or the possibility of going outdoors, landscapes give recovering patients something to aim for.

By using plants which are attractive to butterflies and birds we bring wildlife into the hospital grounds.People will enjoy watching the birds and Insects, and In doing so will become more Involved with the environment. Landscape isn’t just for viewing. We want to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy the landscape and interact with it,  bringing it to life. An ‘inclusive’ landscape has value for all users, from the most dependant to the most able. A hospital has patients of all users,

Milano Triennale

Weddles were the landscape consultant on the Shanghai Milan Pavilion at the northern end of the Shanghai Peace Park. The technical challenge for Weddles was the building façade facing into the park. This face was a large tilted grass roof, that extendedall the way to the ground level of the building. This elevated lawn echoed the park that surrounds it, creating seamless visual coherence across the site.

Weddles provided the expertise of how to ensure good long-term growth and avoid gravity slip on a tilt lawn. Our experience here is based on many years working with vertical elements of landscapes, and extensive knowledge of modular systems. We provided off-site training, selection of soil ratio, grass mix, automatic irrigation & humidity system and on-site installation guidance to ensure the grass was green and healthy at the opening of the building.
