Qingdao Plant Pavilion Pavilion

In 2014 the City of Qingdao, Shangdong, China, will host the World Horticultural Expo. Weddles have been involved with the design of the main Plant Pavilion.

We suggested a low energy temperate environment and this was well received by the client team – Weddles are now completing the Concept Design Stage.

The glasshouse is roughly five times larger than Sheffield Winter Gardens and will have two environmental zones – Temperate and Warm Temperate (Sub Tropical).

During the expo there will be approximately 4000 people passing through the glasshouse each day.
