Residential Sensory Garden

We have just completed our latest residential sensory garden in Sheffield. Over the last 30 years we have built up our in house knowledge though an extensive range of residential / care home / hospital sensory gardens. We have condensed much of this knowledge into this lastest small residential scheme to great effect. The private Sheffield client said she was delighted with how the full sensory garden and wheelchair accessibility has been incorporated into a cost effect residential landscape design. To aid with client understanding of the scheme we also produced a simple and cost effective visualisations, which incorporates the accuracy of computer design and the flexibility of hand drawing.

The ‘Shanghai Fish’ Concept

Weddle Landscape Design have recently completed the landscape design concept for the  ‘Shanghai Fish’ in Nanqiao New City, Shanghai. Weddles were engaged to produce a landscape design concept for the newly built 36ha ‘fish’  framework, implemented by the designers of the Palm Tree Island, Dubai. The concepts promotes Ecological Design, Clean Water and Healthy Living for this district of Shanghai.

BREEAM‘s new version of UK New Construction went live on 21st May 2014, and will now filter down to superseded the 2011 version. One extra credit is now available within LE02, to raise the Land Use and Ecology (LE) credits to 10. Our design for the quingdao glasshouse is central to the 2014 work Horticulture Expo and has attracted over 1 million visitors already. Mike and Lu visit Qingdao Expo

After three years of design and consultation Mike and Lu have made their final site visit to the International Horticultural Expo. They were met by Li Fengli the secretary-general of the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition executive committee and were treated to an access all areas tour of the Expo site. Qingdao Glasshouse nears completion

The Qingdao 2014 World Horticultural Expo Glasshouse nears completion. We have some dramatic photos from the latest site visit to the expo site.

Weddles has been working with one of China’s largest architectural practices over the last few years to develop a naturally ventilated environment where temperatures can fluctuate between 6 – 30 degrees centigrade.  When complete, the glasshouse will exhibit a staggering 3000 varieties of plants ranging from bamboo to cactus, palms and tree ferns.
